Market Bag

I am in the process of designing a market bag to use instead of taking the plastic bags. We are trying to live as green as possible. I am starting small. I will post the pattern after I finish fine tuning it. I might want a slightly bigger bag. I wanted the bags to have comfortable handles. I also wanted to knit them in the round with no sewing. So far so good. The handles are doubled and self hemmed. I am very pleased with the handles. The stitch pattern for the netting is very simple. But I did get a bit lost at one point. It’s just a market bag so it is no big deal. I want to get the designing part done. The next bag will be better.

Looks great so far! I have been looking all over for something similar. Will you post instructions once you are done?

I’d love to see the instructions as well. Are you using a cotton yarn?

What a fancy bag. Very pretty. Have you thought of knitting it with plastic from used grocery bags?
